The weeklong leadership training that commenced on 1st January was participated by over 75 young Tibetan leaders studying in over 15 major educational Institutes all over India. Besides college and school students, participants of the training also include 15 monks from three major Tibetan monasteries in South India.

Besides, the ceremony was also attended by the resource persons Mr. Lobsang Yeshi, Former Vice President of TYC, Mr. Sonam Gyaltsen, Lecturer of Sarah College of Tibetan Studies, Ven. Bagdo and Mr. Lukhar Sham, former political prisoners.


Among the various topics, the primary focus of this year's training will be on History of Tibet's Independence and current issues like recent historic uprising inside Tibet, Tibetan Special Meeting and 50 years in exile. Besides Tibetan resources persons, the training sessions will be led by renowned Indian activists and scholars like Ravi Nair, Director South Asian Forum for Human Rights, Prof Bernard D. Samy of Loyala College, Chennai, Shri Arvind of Alternative Law Forum, Prof. Vijay Kumar of National Law School, and Mr. Pradeep Nair, Deputy Editor, Times of India etc. The morning session includes prayers and a yoga class by Aasha Reddy, Yoga master and a popular Tibet friend and supporter.
The evenings of the training days were spent on group discussions, interactive sessions and watching movies on freedom struggle and histories of freedom movement etc.
